Ronald V. Gobbell, FAIA, President
Ronald Vance Gobbell, FAIA, is a founding partner of the award-winning architectural, engineering and environmental consulting firm, Gobbell Hays Partners, Inc. (GHP). After being established in 1977, GHP became one of the first companies to integrate architectural design with environmental health and safety and industrial hygiene consultation.
A registered architect in 17 states, Gobbell has participated in the design of progressive nation-wide projects ranging in scope from urban renovations of lofts and apartment buildings to innovative design solutions for the hospitality industry, large municipal complexes and educational and medical facilities. His lifetime practice has been recognized by the American Institute of Architects by induction into their College of Fellows.
Mr. Gobbell’s extensive experience and accolades include:
- Nationally published author whose books and publications cover both architectural and environmental topics
- Seminar faculty member at the Berkeley and Davis branches of the University of California, Georgia Tech Research Institute, New York University and The Environmental Institute
- Past President of AIA Tennessee
- Served on NCARB’s Research and Development Committee to develop the computerized architectural registration examination
- Intricately involved in the revitalization of the urban core of Nashville and recognized for contribution to urban living
- Former chairman of the State of Tennessee Architectural and Engineering Licensing Board and served on the Board for eight years
- Has lectured nationally and in Europe on various environmental issues
- Founded Project ABLE (Architects Building Living Environments), a voluntary program of architects assisting handicapped citizens
- Awarded an American Institute of Architecture Sponsorship at the University of Tennessee
