Location: Nashville, TN

Project: GHP, teaming with Messer Construction on the Metro Fire Stations Six Pack project, provided design services on the new Metro Fire Station #2.  Construction of this 25,105 sq. ft. facility is expected to begin mid-2012. 

Details Include:
LEED Silver certification as a minimum.

  • Cost effective, low maintenance, energy efficient construction.

  • Rainwater harvesting from roof tops for truck washing efficient use of water resources.

  • Incorporation of photovoltaic roof top solar panels

  • A Six-bay Apparatus Truck Bay, including: rappel and climbing practice equipment; a Bunker Gear Room; EMS Clean Storage Room; a Laundry Room; and a Decon Room.

A single-story, fully accessible residential/administrative area including:

  • A fitness area

  • Kitchen / Dining area, fully outfitted with all stainless steel appliances and cabinetry.

  • Day Room/Lounge area adjacent to Kitchen and Dining.

  • Dispatch area adjacent to Day Room

  • Fifteen occupancy Bunk Rooms, and three Captain’s Bunk Rooms

  • Individual Toilet/Shower Rooms.

  • Private TV lounge, separate from Day Room.

  • Covered Outdoor Patios

  • Exterior Patio with gas grille

  • Assistant Chief’s Satellite Suite including: Assistant Chief’s Office; Assistant Chief’s Bunk; Toilet/Shower Room; Storage; Telecommunications Staff Office; Telecommunications Staff Bunk; a Conference Room and a Private Garage.

  • An Emergency Generator sized to provide power for 100% of the facility for a minimum of 4 days if called upon in an emergency.
