Project: GHP, teaming with Messer Construction on the Metro Fire Stations Six Pack project, provided design services on the new Metro Fire Station #21.   Construction of this 19,133 sq. ft. facility will begin in January 2012, with anticipated completion in October 2012.

Details Include:
LEED Silver certification as a minimum.

  • Cost effective, low maintenance, energy efficient construction.

  • Rainwater harvesting from roof tops for truck washing efficient use of water resources.

  • Incorporation of photovoltaic roof top solar panels

  • A Two-bay Apparatus Truck Bay, including: rappel and climbing practice equipment; a Bunker Gear Room; EMS Clean Storage Room; a Laundry Room; and a Decon Room.

A two-story, fully accessible residential/administrative area including:

  • A fitness area

  • Kitchen / Dining area, fully outfitted with all stainless steel appliances and cabinetry.

  • Day Room/Lounge area adjacent to Kitchen and Dining.

  • Dispatch area adjacent to Day Room

  • Fourteen single occupancy Bunk Rooms, and two Captain’s Bunk Rooms

  • Individual Toilet/Shower Rooms.

  • Private TV lounge, separate from Day Room.

  • Covered Outdoor Patios

  • Exterior Patio with gas grille

An Emergency Generator sized to provide power for 100% of the facility for a minimum of 4 days if called upon in an emergency.
